About Somatic Healing in Partnership
About Zach.
I taught for 7 years in Oakland public middle schools, as a social-emotional learning teacher, P.E. teacher, basketball coach, Dean, and Restorative Justice facilitator. In 2015, I co-founded Camp Common Ground to bring youth from diverse backgrounds together for a two-week overnight summer camp to build empathy, conflict resolution skills, healthy racial and gender identities, and lasting friendships. I have participated in a number of Men’s Groups, including Sacred Sons, Mankind Project, and groups specifically for white men, and those based in Non-Violent Communication. I am a screenwriter, contact improv dancer, semi-pro basketball player, stand-up comedian, and lover of the sun and bodies of water.
I bring my passions for emotional attunement, social justice, healthy relationships, gender and sexuality exploration, and mindful movement into my work as a Somatic Coach. I am trained by the Strozzi Institute and expect to hold an International Coaching Federation certification by early 2023. I bring elements of body work, psycho-drama (theater of the opressed), and mindful movement into our coaching.
